Check Active Warrants

Warrants in Douglas County are public record — but how you check matters. Walking into TCSO to ask in person can result in immediate arrest if you have an outstanding warrant.

Safer ways to check

  1. 1. Search JUSTICE. Any issued warrant attaches to a case. Search by name at JUSTICE (nebraska.gov). If there's an active CF or CM case, look for "Warrant Issued" in the docket entries.
  2. 2. Hire an attorney to check. A defense lawyer can pull the warrant and, in many cases, arrange a "walk-in" surrender at a scheduled court appearance — avoiding overnight detention.
  3. 3. Call TCSO Warrants. The Douglas County Sheriff's Warrants Division will confirm by phone whether a name has an active warrant. (402) 444-6648.

Find a defense attorney first

A lawyer can also negotiate bond before surrender and may be able to quash an old warrant entirely.

Warning

Do not walk into a Omaha Police station, the courthouse clerk, or the David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center to ask about your own warrant in person. If a warrant is active, you will likely be taken into custody on the spot.
